Self HLEP - 3
Now, let’s delve into Lesson No: 3 – the development of VISION.
The Importance of Having a Destination
Every journey gains meaning when there’s a
specific destination. Imagine embarking on a trip without knowing where you’re
headed—it would be absurd and foolish. While there may be various routes to
reach your destination, having clarity about where you’re going is essential.
Consider life as a journey. As a baby, you cried when hungry and instinctively sought what you needed. As an infant, you pursue your desires without inhibitions or fears. However, as you grew older, societal norms, parental guidance, and cultural expectations shaped your choices. You began doing things to please others, often suppressing your own desires. Over time, you may have lost touch with your true potential and forgotten what you genuinely want from life.
Breaking Free from Limitations
The fear of financial instability often
prevents people from pursuing their passions. However, it is possible to make a
living doing what you love. We’ll explore this further in future lessons. But
for now, let’s focus on envisioning where we want to be ten years from today.
Creating Your Vision
Your vision encompasses seven key areas:
- Work
and Career: Imagine your ideal job or career. What
role do you play? What impact do you make?
- Finances:
Picture your financial situation. How stable are you? What lifestyle do
you lead?
- Recreation
and Free Time: Envision how you spend your leisure
hours. What hobbies or activities bring you joy?
- Health
and Fitness: Visualize your physical well-being.
How fit and healthy are you?
- Relationships:
Consider your relationships with family and friends. What kind of
connections do you nurture?
- Personal
Goals: Reflect on your personal growth. What skills do
you acquire? What knowledge do you seek?
- Contribution
to the Community: Think about your impact on the larger
community. How do you give back?
Navigating Your Journey
At this stage, you don’t need to know every
detail of how you’ll get there. What matters is understanding your
destination—the “what.” Once you’re clear on that, the “how” will naturally
unfold. It’s like using a GPS: You input your destination, and the system
guides you step by step. Trust that your inner GPS will reveal the path as you
move forward.
Overcoming Challenges
Be prepared for naysayers. Some people will
doubt your vision, call you crazy, or insist it can’t be done. Ignore them.
Stay focused on your path. Remember, those who laugh at your dreams are often
stuck in their own limitations.
Development of Vision
- Financial
Area: Expand on your financial vision. What does
financial abundance mean to you? Imagine your dream home.
- Ideal
Job or Career: Describe your perfect role. What
impact do you want to create?
- Free
Time and Recreation: Enrich your leisure hours. What
activities bring fulfillment?
- Physical
Health: Visualize a healthy, vibrant you. What
habits support your well-being?
- Relationships:
Picture harmonious connections with loved ones. How do you nurture these
bonds?
- Personal
Development: Consider your growth. What skills do
you acquire? What knowledge do you seek?
- Community
Contribution: How will you give back? Imagine your
positive impact on the community.
Review and Share
Write down your vision. Review it daily—both
consciously and subconsciously. And share it with trusted friends who believe
in your dreams.
Remember, your "VISION" is your compass. Trust it, follow it, and watch your journey unfold.
