Surah No: 2. Al-Baqarah (from 2:1 to 2:7)

2:1

  • Arabic Script: الٓمٓ
  • Phonetic Form: Alif-Lām-Mīm
  • Meaning in English: Alif, Lam, Meem.
  • Meaning in Telugu: అలిఫ్, లామ్, మీమ్. (ఇదొక సంకేతం, దీని అర్థం అల్లాహ్‌కే తెలుసు.)

2:2

  • Arabic Script: ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبُ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ هُدًى لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ
  • Phonetic Form: Dhālika l-kitābu lā rayba fīhi hudan lil-muttaqīn
  • Meaning in English: This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those conscious of Allah.
  • Meaning in Telugu: ఈ ఖురాన్ పుస్తకంలో ఏమాత్రం సందేహం లేదు. ఇది అల్లాహ్ పట్ల  భయభక్తులు ఉన్నవాళ్లకు మార్గ దర్సకం  చూపుతుంది. 

2:3

  • Arabic Script: ٱلَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْغَيْبِ وَيُقِيمُونَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَـٰهُمْ يُنفِقُونَ
  • Phonetic Form: Alladhīna yu’minūna bi-l-ghaybi wa yuqimūna ṣ-ṣalāata wa mimmā razaqnāhum yunfiqūn
  • Meaning in English: Who believe in the unseen, establish prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them.
  • Meaning in Telugu: కళ్లకు కనబడని దాన్ని నమ్మేవాళ్లు, నమాజ్ చేసేవాళ్లు, ఇంకా మనం ఇచ్చినదానిలో నుంచి (పేదవాళ్లకు) ఖర్చు పెట్టేవాళ్లు.

2:4

  • Arabic Script: وَٱلَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ مِن قَبْلِكَ وَبِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ هُمْ يُوقِنُونَ
  • Phonetic Form: Wa alladhīna yu’minūna bimā unzila ilayka wa mā unzila min qablika wa bi-l-ākhirati hum yūqinūn
  • Meaning in English: And who believe in what has been revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and what was revealed before you, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith].
  • Meaning in Telugu: నీకు (ముహమ్మద్‌కు) పంపిన దాన్ని,  నీకు ముందు పంపిన  వాటిని కూడా నమ్మేవాళ్లు. అంతేకాదు, పరలోకం (అంటే చనిపోయిన తర్వాత జీవితం) గురించి వాళ్లకు నమ్మకం ఉంటుంది.

2:5

  • Arabic Script: أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ عَلَىٰ هُدًى مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ
  • Phonetic Form: Ulā’ika ʿalā hudan min rabbihim wa ulā’ika humu l-mufliḥūn
  • Meaning in English: Those are upon [right] guidance from their Lord, and it is those who are the successful.
  • Meaning in Telugu: అలాంటివాళ్లే అల్లాహ్ ద్వారా సరైన మార్గంలో ఉన్నవాళ్లు, వాళ్లే విజయం సాధించినవాళ్లు.

2:6

  • Arabic Script: إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَأَنذَرْتَهُمْ أَمْ لَمْ تُنذِرْهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
  • Phonetic Form: Inna alladhīna kafarū sawā’un ʿalayhim a-andhartahum am lam tundhirhum lā yu’minūn
  • Meaning in English: Indeed, those who disbelieve – it is all the same for them whether you warn them or do not warn them – they will not believe.
  • Meaning in Telugu: అల్లాహ్‌ను నమ్మనివాళ్లు ఉన్నారు చూశారా? వాళ్లను నువ్వు హెచ్చరించినా, హెచ్చరించకపోయినా వాళ్లకు ఒకటే. వాళ్లు నమ్మరు.

2:7

  • Arabic Script: خَتَمَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ وَعَلَىٰ سَمْعِهِمْ وَعَلَىٰٓ أَبْصَـٰرِهِمْ غِشَـٰوَةٌ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ
  • Phonetic Form: Khatama Allāhu ʿalā qulūbihim wa ʿalā samʿihim wa ʿalā abṣārihim ghishāwatuṉ wa lahum ʿadhābuṉ ʿaẓīm
  • Meaning in English: Allah has set a seal upon their hearts and upon their hearing, and over their eyes is a veil; and for them is a great punishment.
  • MeaninginTelugu:అల్లాహ్  వాళ్ల హృదయాలపైనా, చెవులపైనా  సీలు  వేశాడు  ఇంకా వాళ్ల కళ్లపై ఒక తెర ఉంది. వాళ్లకు పెద్ద శిక్ష ఉంది.

Ballia Reunion on 7.1.2026

My dear friends, Sometimes, life gives us a second chance to step into a photograph we thought had faded. This is the story of one such gift —a get-together of the  Ballia Babuas  on  07.01.2026  at the  Ramapriya Convention, Vijayawada . It began, as all beautiful things often do, with a simple message. About fifteen days prior, our dear friend  Mr. Ramachandra Rao Ji  posted an invitation in our WhatsApp group—a digital call that echoed across years and kilometres. Day by day, he added names to an animated list, each confirmation a spark rekindling a fire that had last burned in  Ballia , a town in eastern Uttar Pradesh on the banks of the Ganga. My Ballia Memories

My dear frineds, Greetings to you all. In this post I am sharing my memories attached to "Ballia", where I studied the one year Remedial Course and 2 years M.Sc(Ag) Economics Course, from 1980 to 83, in the SMMTPG College, Ballia.  Folloing is our College Photo. This is the back side of the college. After receipt of the front side photo, I will update it.   During the 1st year, I stayed in the College Hostel. And for the next two years, along with    Mr. Lakshmi Narayana [a M.Sc course student from Vijayawada], I took a Room on rent, in the Police Lines, Ballia. The House owner was Mrs. Suseela Gupata, a teacher. She, her Son     Mr. Suneel and we both students, use to stay in that House. Mr. Lakshminarayana vacated the room after completion of his course.
