Plastic free Beach

Hi my dear,
Welcome.

Today, that is on 24.8.2020 morning 7 AM, we visited Thiruvanmiyur Beach, in Chennai.

At the entrance, we saw below big board.

We thought that - this is a routine board display, like at any other public places.

But, to our surprise we found that, virtually there are no plastic bottles or any other type of trash, in the vicinity. 

The reason behind this cleanliness is, a new type of trash bins were being arranged, in the following innovative way.



Two "Cement rings" with two feet height and four feet perimeter, as above, were placed, all along the beach. 

As these cement rings may be weighing above 200 kgs each, they can not be lifted or taken away by anyone easily. Further, they don't need any regular maintenance too. 

Yesterday was Sunday, when many might have been visited the beach.
Yet, the beach is clean from all types of garbage, even at the early hours of Monday. 

You can see in the below 1 minute video that the beach is really free from all types of plastic bottles, bags, etc.



From the above it is clearly evident that, keeping the vast places like beaches free from plastic pollution is practically possible, through the above method.

Cleanliness is essential to maintain the natural beauty of the area. 


Hence, we may take the above to notice of the State Governments notice and pursue for maintenance of cleanliness in the beaches, wherever we fond stinky & awkward beaches.

Please take a photo/video of your local beach, if they is plastic pollution.

Send it to my WhatsApp number 9491135998, along with the photo of a representation addressed to the Managing Director, Helping Hands Foundation.

Then we can start persuasion with the Government officials for cleanliness in the beach.

Ballia Reunion on 7.1.2026

My Ballia Memories

My dear frineds, Greetings to you all. In this post I am sharing my memories attached to "Ballia", where I studied the one year Remedial Course and 2 years M.Sc(Ag) Economics Course, from 1980 to 83, in the SMMTPG College, Ballia.  Folloing is our College Photo. This is the back side of the college. After receipt of the front side photo, I will update it.   During the 1st year, I stayed in the College Hostel. And for the next two years, along with    Mr. Lakshmi Narayana [a M.Sc course student from Vijayawada], I took a Room on rent, in the Police Lines, Ballia. The House owner was Mrs. Suseela Gupata, a teacher. She, her Son     Mr. Suneel and we both students, use to stay in that House. Mr. Lakshminarayana vacated the room after completion of his course.
