Coming-out of NOMOPHOBIA

Hi, my dear,
Greetings.

Now-a-days, many people are affected with the NOMOPHOBIA.

NOMOPHOBIA or NO MObile PHone PhoBIA is used to describe a psychological condition when people have a fear of being detached from mobile phone connectivity.

Nomophobia might not yet be classified as an official mental health condition. However, experts agree this issue of the technology age is a growing concern that can affect mental health.

Cell phones emit low levels of non-ionizing radiation when in use. The type of radiation emitted by cell phones is also referred to as radio frequency (RF) energy.

The adolescents use cell phones at night, which leads to insomnia. And insomnia ultimately results in depression

The blue light that emanates from your phone's screen can actually delay the release of melatonin and set human internal clock to a later schedule. It can also lead to losing REM sleep and leave us waking up groggy, even if you did get a good few hours sleep.

Too much cell phone use can lead to overextending nervescausing what doctors call "cell phone elbow." Orthopedic specialists are reporting cases of "cell phone elbow," in which patients damage an essential nerve in their arm by bending their elbows too tightly for too long.

Following are the Signs and Symptoms of Cell Phone Addiction
  • A need to use the cell phone more and more often in order to achieve the same desired effect.
  • Persistent failed attempts to use cell phone less often.
  • Preoccupation with smartphone use.
  • Turns to cell phone when experiencing unwanted feelings such as anxiety or depression.

Though the children are the main victims, yet the adults are also no exception to this.

After knowing the above, I am adopting a simple technique, for the past few months, to safeguard myself from the Nomophobia.

It is nothing else but, reducing the usage of phone, in a systematic manner.

To be specific, before one hour to sleeping time in the night I am keeping away the cellphone. I generally go to bed, at about 10 PM. So I stop seeing the cellphone from 9PM onward.

Similarly, in the morning I woke-up at 4.30 AM and never touch the phone, till I complete the morning bath. Normally I take bath at about 9 AM, after morning walk, gardening, feeding birds, etc.

By this way, I almost keep the phone away from me, for 12 hours at a stretch.

During the day time, while attending the works, during the pray, dining times etc also, the cellphone will be kept aside.

Due to above measures, my cellphone viewing time has been reduced drastically, when compared with earlier usage.

Following is the video presentation on this issue.

Hope the above "tip" will be useful to you also.

May Almighty bless us all with good health and happy life.

Regards.
